Post     Re: Vampire: The Brink

Wetzel: I stand stiff, afraid to breathe.
Wetzel: I move to take a step and for some reason become aware of Sigmund.
Wetzel: I should have had him stay in the cube room.
Wetzel: No, I should have had him stay outside the tower.
Wetzel: This is so far beyond anything I expected.
Wetzel: Fucking idiot.
Wetzel: "Stay, stay" I say quietly, as though in a library.
Wetzel: I step closer and observe the creature.
Wetzel: "My god."

Jason: "Indeed," Anselme says.
Jason: "Malik," he calls out, and the other Malkavian in the room listens. "Go back upstairs, go to your room."
Jason: He obeys, exits the cavern, and calls the elevator.
Jason: Anselme walks over to stone slab on which Malkav rests, he sits on its side, looking at you. With his left hand, he grabs a small tube, curled up on top of Malkav's chest, its top plugged with rubber. He unplugs it and puts it in his mouth, and for a moment looks for all the world like the hookah-smoking caterpillar in Alice and Wonderland.
Jason: The tube must run straight into Malkav's aorta.
Jason: He removes it from his mouth, pinching the top and offers it to you.

Wetzel: I look dumbly at him as if to stare the situation out of existence.
Wetzel: The weight of the situation hits me.
Wetzel: An extended schwa oozes out of my throat.
Wetzel: I turn away. My head swims, my stomach turns.
Wetzel: So cavalierly, he just drank the blood of an antediluvian.
Wetzel: I move several steps away before spitting watery saliva on the floor.
Wetzel: Respect for the dead seems pointless.
Wetzel: Without turning around: "What are you doing?"

Jason: "Malkav is an unending source of power," he says. "He is this tower, he is all that you see. And he is myself. Just as he is you."
Jason: "If you drink from him, you will never worry about anything else."
Jason: Anselme sees your hesitation and plugs the top again. He lays it down for a moment. He walks up to you and tries to change the subject.
Jason: "Malik is my childe," he says. "I created two, just like our sire."
Jason: "You see, after my embrace, I noticed something odd. It seemed that my aura did not give away my curse, and that, as far as anyone could tell, I was not just another demented mind."
Jason: "I thought, for a time, that I had somehow escaped the blood of... well," he indicates the body in the center of the room. "Of our friend. But then I made Malik, and Mikhail."
Jason: "And they are lunatics."
Jason: "However," he says, with strength returning to his voice. He grabs you and spins you around to face him. "They are my lunatics."
Jason: "And I fear that your compatriots still have Mikhail somewhere."
Jason: "Wetzel, you must appreciate the plight of a man whose childe is lost in the hands of monsters, mustn't you?"

Wetzel: "You must by now be powerful beyond anything I've ever imagined."
Wetzel: "So kill me, if it pleases you."

Jason: "Why on Earth would I want to do that?" he asks.
Jason: "Family is important, Wetzel. I never had one in my life, so I must care for it greatly in unlife."

Wetzel: Family.
Wetzel: Back to my embrace for the second time tonight.
Wetzel: I had family to care for me. They thought I was just sick.
Wetzel: I wonder what it was like for this man?
Wetzel: "Anselme."
Wetzel: "The world you want to make will harm humanity."
Wetzel: "We shouldn't exist. You, of all people, understand that, don't you?"

Jason: "Wetzel, if I could end this curse, I would. But no one can. Now you tell me which harms humanity more - a new race's acceptance within its culture and peaceful symbiosis, or what we have now: a world in which countless are killed nightly due to all the restrictions and obstacles we have placed upon feeding, leaving lesser vampires completely unable to control their Beasts?"
Jason: "We will prove our worth to them. And after time, the distinction between us will vanish."

Wetzel: One more difference between us.
Wetzel: Anselme also hates being a vampire, but his conclusion is different.
Wetzel: He fights to preserve himself and he's found a way. And he has the means, motive and opportunity.
Wetzel: I see that that difference is going to make him intransigent. He's not going to agree that vampires shouldn't exist.
Wetzel: It occurs to me that he read my thoughts earlier by touching me.

Jason: Wits + Occult, difficulty six.
Jason: I should have had you roll this at the time.

***Wetzel rolled 2+0-1: 7

Jason: You don't think he quite read your mind, so to speak.

Wetzel: I say in my mind: "Can you hear what I'm thinking?"
Wetzel: Then, out loud: "Well, can you do it?"

Jason: "I can. I have the ability to make it happen, to change this world for the better," he says with great conviction.

Wetzel: "Anselme ..."
Wetzel: "I also have no family. I used to, but not anymore."
Wetzel: "So it means a lot to me to know I have a brother."
Wetzel: "But you have the wrong idea about the place of Kindred in the world."
Wetzel: "We don't reproduce and we don't do science. Vampires walk around carrying technology they would never have invented."
Wetzel: "We're a parasite species in every sense."

Jason: Anselme shakes his head back and forth, disagreeing. "Your eyes aren't open yet," he tells you.
Jason: Anselme walks back to Malkav and picks the tube from his heart up once more, and holds it out for you.
Jason: "You have to drink."

Wetzel: "Anselme, tell me what you meant when you said Malkav powers this tower."

Jason: "This tower," he indicates proudly, "exists in a corporeal sense. However, Malkav inhabits it. He is its eyes and ears. Its shield." He laughs: "Its interior decorator."

Wetzel: "What do you mean? Is that corpse conscious?"
Wetzel: "Is the TOWER conscious?"

Jason: "There is no answer for you that can be expressed in words, Wetzel. The truth exists between yes and no, black and white, right and wrong."
Jason: He holds the tube out for you.
Jason: "Here is your answer."

Richter: "I was trying to end that peacefully."

Jason: Kang, roll Conscience, difficulty eight.

Kang: NO
Kang: I was defending myself!

Richter: I check Zero to see if there are any signs of life at all.

dicebot: Kang rolled 2#d10 --> [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}

Jason: You breathe a sigh. Although you'll never forget Zero's impact in your life, you feel done with him for now and resigned to your multiple disposals of him.

Kang: Well, he isn't dead!
Kang: He's in torpor!
Kang: I DID HIM A FAVOR
Kang: He doesn't have to face Anselme now!

Jason: Richter, you know enough to tell that he is in torpor. His chest is gaping wide open.

Richter: Is there anyway to revive him?
Richter: Like give him blood?

Kang: "Anselme desperately wants this Malkavian back."
Kang: "You can give him your blood if you want."

Jason: No. He'll be there until his humanity dictates.

Richter: "Well looks like he won't be helping us."
Richter: "What do you want to do with the Malkavian."
Richter: "It's not safe here."
Richter: "More than likely Anselme knows we're here."

Kang: "I'm kind of at a loss on what we're supposed to do."

Richter: "We need to find Wetzel."
Richter: "I don't think it's safe to wait here much longer."
Richter: "But alright we should give him some more time if you want Kang."

Kang: "Let's just go to another part of the sewers."
Kang: "Give Lucy some time to wake up. Also, give Wetzel a chance to do ... whatever."

Richter: "Alright."
Richter: "But we need to think of a contingency plan."
Richter: "Our chances of success are seeming less and less likely.

Kang: "If you can come up with a way to stop somebody who diablerized the prince and has a huge army of followers ..."
Kang: "Well, be my guest."
Kang: We'll go to another part of the sewer, Jason.
Kang: And shack up for a bit.
Kang: I'll try to wake Lucy.

Jason: By the way, Richter, you realize that even once Zero awakes, he'll still be under Anselme's control.

Richter: Yeah we'll go with Lucy and the Malkavian.
Richter: To another part of the sewer.

Jason: Leaving Zero behind?

Kang: Hmmm
Kang: You know what
Kang: I'm going to go make a stake really quick
Kang: And stake Zero

Jason: All right.
Jason: Wits + Crafts, difficulty six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 3#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}

Jason: All right, you manage to break a nearby mop handle and make a pretty good stake, which you plunge into Zero.

Kang: I'll throw his staked body into the sludge
Kang: Anyway, after all of that
Kang: I'll lead Richter (we'll take the two INCAPACITATED VAMPS with us) deep into the sewers.
Kang: Where we can hopefully come up with a plan
Kang: And also give Wetzel a chance to DO HIS THING

Richter: Yeah that seems like the best option right now.

Jason: You two find a new, remote place in the sewer, that hasn't previously been discovered by Anselme. Richter, this is your first time ever trudging through the shit and sludge, and you feel absolutely fucking revolted, and very angry that this is what it's come to.
Jason: You finally reach an out of the way minor water processing area. It's loud, cramped, you can hear the subway trains go by right above you, but it feels safe.

Kang: I'll try to wake Lucy

Richter: "Perhaps we should try offering her some blood?"

Kang: "You do it."

Richter: "Alright."
Richter: I'll prick my finger and offer Lucy a drop of blood to see if there's a response.

Jason: No response from just a drop.
Jason: Which is less than a blood point, of course.

Kang: "I think you need to use more blood than that, you idiot."

Richter: Can I discern anything about her condition?

Jason: It's like nothing you've seen before. She shows no external damage, but seems utterly braindead. It's a bizarre catatonia that you can surmise relates to her power.

Richter: "I don't think this is from lack of blood, and if it was blood would have at least generated a reaction."

Kang: "What do you think we should do then?"

Richter: "To be honest, I wouldn't be in the sewer if we probably weren't fucked."

Kang: "I remember saying we should meet Wetzel at the spot where we left that guy."
Kang: I point at the prone guy.
Kang: "But he told us not to wait, because he wasn't sure if he was going to succeed."

Richter: "We need to stop Anselme, but I'm not sure how we do it."
Richter: "Maybe we should seek the aid of the Camarilla in another city."
Richter: "Get them to come down on him hard."

Kang: "What should we do with these two?"

Richter: "We should take Lucy with us she's a bigwig in the Camarilla."
Richter: "We should dump him like we dumped Zero."

Kang: Is he still staked?

Jason: Yes.

Kang: "You think we should leave him alive?"
Kang: "Anselme seems to be able to find him wherever."
Kang: You know what
Kang: I'm going to behead that Malkavian.

Richter: "Should we destroy him?"

Kang: I pull out my knife
Kang: And start sawing his head off.

Jason: Strength + Melee, difficulty five.

dicebot: Kang rolled 4#d10 --> [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Jason: It takes you a while, but you do it.

Kang: I toss his head into the sludge

Jason: CONSCIENCE, DIFFICULTY SIX.

Richter: I look disgusted with what I've just seen.

Kang: *feels guilty about killing the guy who tried to murder him multiple times*

dicebot: Kang rolled 2#d10 --> [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}

Kang: fuck yeah

Jason: YOU ARE GLEEFUL AS YOU FINALLY END THIS FUCKER ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Kang: Once I finish with the Malkavian
Kang: I look at Richter and say, "I'm done with this city."
Kang: "I'm leaving."

Jason: You think of all the dead Nosferatu as you do it.

Richter: "Don't you care about the other Nosferatu?"

Kang: "They're dead."
Kang: I start to head to my house.
Kang: Well
Kang: "You're welcome to come with me. And you can drag that Tremere bitch with you. But I'm not sticking around to see Nauset go down in flames."

Jason: Richter, you cannot ignore the fact that if you give up on Anselme, there'll be nothing to stop him, and he could just use Nauset as a starting point for his domination.

Richter: "No, I need to stay, I can't leave this city."
Richter: "I have too many attachments."
Richter: "I could use your help, but I understand if you go."
Richter: "Alright, warn the Camarilla about Anselme."

Kang: "Okay, cya."
Kang: And I walk off.

Richter: And I leave with Lucy.
Richter: I'm heading to my apartment, and then if I can't revive Lucy to Decimus tower.

Wetzel: "I'm sorry, but I won't."

Jason: Anselme sighs and puts the tube down. He stands upright and advances toward you, and instantly you are aware of how much taller he is than you.
Jason: He begins to speak.
Jason: But then you hear a scream erupt in your mind. A different one, and not a loud one. It's as if it's coming from down a very long hallway. It's not painful or overbearing. You hear it... out of empathy.
Jason: Then you look at Anselme and you can tell that the scream is much, much closer for him.
Jason: "M... Mikhail..." he says, his eyes belying how horrified he is.
Jason: He turns to you. His eyes are becoming red with building tears.
Jason: "They've killed him."

Wetzel: I search my mind.
Wetzel: Malthe was the one I found, and Malik was here, so Mikhail must be the one staked underground.
Wetzel: "I know the one you're talking about. He was alive the last time I saw him. You may be mistaken."

Jason: "No," he says, and the menace returns to his voice. "I heard his death cry." He twists his neck and stares at you. "Your former friends..."
Jason: Anselme's face begins to tick, as his eyes fire back and forth, figuring out what to do. He grabs the tube, unplugs it and pinches it to his lips. His head dips backward as he drinks and drinks and drinks.
Jason: Finally he releases it, haphazardly plugs it again and breathes out wetly. You can smell Malkav's blood in his saliva.
Jason: He leans over the body, and without looking at you growls, "Wait here."
Jason: Then he suddenly falls limp, and collapses over Malkav, forming a cross between their bodies.

Jason: You take Lucy back to your home and watch over her, but she remains unresponsive. You decide that you might have no choice but to head to Decimus Tower.

Richter: I'll go to Decimus tower.

Jason: Leaving her at your home?

Richter: Yeah she's fine there.

***

Jason: You're driving out of Nauset in your van at breakneck speed, having left the city to rot.

Kang: My van has stealth technology.
Kang: It's impossible to track.
Kang: It's rocket powered, too.

Jason: You're about fifteen minutes out of the city limits when suddenly, Anselme Pavel appears on your windshield.
Jason: Not quite him, of course, but a transparent, ghostly image of him. You notice a silver cord extending from his navel, shooting intangibly through your van and back toward the city behind you.
Jason: He looks enraged, more furious than you could imagine he was capable of. He is heaving, habitually, and he stares dead into your eyes for the moment and hisses out through his clenched teeth: "You bastard rat. Turn around, and go to Decimus."
Jason: Then he vanishes.

Kang: Kck ...

Jason: And without another thought, you stop short, turn around, and obey.

***

Wetzel: I stare at the two motionless bodies.
Wetzel: I can't believe he trusted me like this.
Wetzel: I wonder what kind of power he actually gets from that old corpse.
Wetzel: Without disturbing either of the bodies, I check Anselme's pulse.

Jason: A slow, methodical pulsing of blood, vibrating under your thumb.

Wetzel: Shit. He was upset.
Wetzel: Did he go to kill the other three?
Wetzel: Or somewhere else entirely?
Wetzel: Now's my chance either way.
Wetzel: I look around for something to destroy Malkav with.

Jason: Nothing sticks out at you precisely. The room is a tomb of warm Earth, supported by wooden structural supports. There is the tank of blood above Malkav, and the tubs which are likely just plastic.
Jason: There is Sigmund, and your gun.

Wetzel I check the ammunition. One bullet left.
Wetzel We just might be far enough away from everyone else, but it doesn't matter with one shot.
Wetzel I have no idea how to kill a vampire with one shot. Any vampire, much less one like this.
Wetzel I try to decide the best place to aim. The heart? The forehead? The base of the skull?
Wetzel: And it hits me. I can't do this.
Wetzel: I back away.
Wetzel: I need to talk to someone, anyone.
Wetzel: I try to listen to the Malkavian network.

Jason: The Network is a general mess, as usual, but you can tell that a few have taken note of your predicament. Various screams of "Kill him! Kill him!" and the occasional "Do it, drink, we promise we won't tells nobody."

***

Jason: Wetzel, you stand in the cavern below Decimus Tower, dumbstruck and conflicted. There's no sound save for Sigmund clawing at the ground. Richter, you exit a taxi outside of the tower, just in time to see Kang's van careening through the street, before skidding to a stop on the curb. He exits the driver's seat and looks blank and dead.

Kang: Hmm

Richter: I'll go over and mesmerize Kang.
Richter: "Clap your hands once."

Jason: Manipulation + Leadership, five, minus one die.

dicebot: Richter rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Jason: Kang does not obey, Richter.

Richter: I'll mesmerize Kang.

Kang: I'll get out of the van and walk into the tower.

Richter: "Hop twice."
Richter: Actually you know what I'll just follow him into the tower.

Jason: Kang walks past you, Richter, and knocks on the large, foreboding door of the tower. After a moment, it is opened by a thin man. Richter, you recognize him as the man who directed you to your room here on New Year's Eve. He sees you and unquestioningly allows you inside as well.
Jason: You both stand inside the lobby of Decimus once more. The thin man says, "Mr. Pavel will see to you shortly, I am sure," and climbs the staircase up.
Jason: The life returns to Kang's eyes.
Jason: You are alone.

Richter: I take it he wouldn't let you escape.

Kang: I grit my teeth.
Kang: "I just want out of here. I want nothing to do with this."

Richter: Well it doesn't seem like that's an option anymore.

Kang: "I suppose."

Richter: "I wonder what is taking so long."

Kang: "Are we supposed to follow him up? Or wait here?"

Jason: Both of you roll Wits + Investigation, six for Richter, seven for Kang.

Richter: "Well since we're along this might be our chance to find that item giving him power."

Jason: Minus one die for Richter.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}

dicebot: Richter rolled 5#d10 --> [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}

Kang: kukukuku

Richter: "Well since I'm a fucking director, let's just go find he goddamn artifact and get this over with."

Kang: "I'm shocked that you aren't standing silently. What's come over you, Richter?"
Kang: "Anselme must have dominated you. I'm so sorry."

Richter: "Well I am as you said the worst director in the fucking world."

Kang: hahaha

Richter: "So I'm entirely random in when I do it."

Jason: You both notice the nearest elevator reach the lobby. It dings and opens, but no one enters or exits. It must just be returning to this floor by default.

Richter: I'll get in the elevator.

Kang: I'll go to the elevator!

Richter: I'll check the buttons to see if I can figure out a floor that we should go to.

Jason: Roll Wits + Investigation, difficulty eight for both of you.
Jason: Minus a die for Richter.

dicebot: Richter rolled 5#d10 --> [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}

Jason: Working together, you both just barely notice a hidden button on the panel. Not immediately apparent, but pushable.

Richter: I'll push the button.

Jason: The elevator travels down, down, down. You notice the number signifier above the door remains on L, despite moving for far longer than it should take.

Richter: I'll wait for the elevator to reach it's destination.

Kang: I guess I'll do the same.

Jason: Finally, the elevator hits the very bottom of the shaft, and opens. Immediately, there is a very gray, very blank room, but the far wall of it is... missing.
Jason: Past it is a cavern, with no walls, only wooden structural supports.
Jason: In the center of this room hangs a massive glass vat of blood, which drips down a narrow tube into a man, covered in dirt, and very, very tall, almost inhumanly so. He lies on a stone slab, unmoving.
Jason: From him eject several tubes, all red with thick, dark blood, which run into small holes in the sides of the cavern.

Richter: "This is probably where Anselme is getting his ability to influence people so easily."

Jason: Above him is Anselme Pavel, slumped over, limp.
Jason: Next to them both is Wetzel and his dog. Wetzel holds a gun in his hand, and his eyes dart about, nervously.
Jason: Wetzel, as you are lost in thought, it takes you far too long to notice Kang and Richter, stepping into the cavern, from the elevator.

Richter: "So is Anselme Pavel dead?"
Richter: "Did you kill him Wetzel?"

Wetzel: "Oh!"
Wetzel: "What are you doing? How did you get here?"

Kang: I'll walk up to the body on the slab and examine it.
Kang: Do I recognize the man?
Kang: OR IS IT A MYSTERY

Wetzel: "Don't touch that!"

Jason: You do not recognize this man. As you get closer you see that he is about eight feet tall, his chest marked with many gashes and scars. He isn't breathing, but blood is entering and exiting him...

Richter: "We were forced here by the Anselme Pavel's doings."
Richter: "What are you doing here?"
Richter: "And what is going on here anyway?"

Wetzel: "Anselme brought me here. He left, I thought he was hunting you."

Richter: Is he kindred?
Richter: I point out the slumped over Anselme to Wetzel.
Richter: "He's right there."

Kang: I look at Wetzel.
Kang: "Who is this man?"
Kang: "You should really answer our questions."

Wetzel: "I mean, he collapsed. He realized you had killed Mikhail and ..."
Wetzel: "The one he's on top of is Malkav, the Malkavian antediluvian."

Richter: "Why is that not particularly surprising."

Jason: Suddenly, Anselme Pavel shoots back to life.
Jason: He arches his spine and screams, his eyes opening once more. Composing himself, he hastily looks around the room, and sees you both. "You," he says.
Jason: He turns to Wetzel. "Did you bring them down here?" he asks accusingly, and almost sounding hurt. He eyes the gun in your hand.

Richter: "We found our own way here, Anselme."

Wetzel: "They just showed up ..."

Kang: "There's no way this is actually an antediluvian."
Kang: "How could this possibly happen?"

Richter: Yeah it seems highly unlikely that Anselme would have found Malkav let alone any antediluvian.

Wetzel: "Anselme, I'm don't know what happened with Mikhail, but I don't want these two harmed."

Jason: "I wouldn't expect you to understand, you murdering rat," Anselme says. Then he turns to you, Wetzel, and says "I'm sorry, but there are crimes that must be brought to justice."
Jason: Then he turns to you, Richter, and says: "Richter, this is of no concern to you. Head upstairs and have someone bring you to a comfort room."
Jason: He advances toward Kang.

Kang: I'll try to use vanish from mind's eye
Kang: And I'll use a willpower point
Kang: For an automatic success

Jason: Charisma + Stealth, difficulty nine.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}

Kang: so close ...
Kang: I'll back up from Anselme.

Jason: Kang dissipates into a ghostlike figure, flickering in and out of view in the dark cavern.

Kang: "I don't understand why you couldn't just leave me alone."
Kang: "I never would have interfered with any of this!"

Jason: "Then why did you kill my Mikhail!" he screams with bloodlust.

Kang: "He tried to kill me! He destroyed my home!"

Jason: Kang, you notice Anselme's eyes on you are not faltering. You remember your inability to hide from him last time.

Kang: I'll rush at Anselme.
Kang: And tackle him
Kang: "I'm not going to let you kill me! This isn't how it's going to end!"

Wetzel: I stop Kang.
Wetzel: By grabbing him.

Jason: Resisted action.
Jason: Both of you roll Dex + Athletics, difficulty six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 3#d10 --> [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

***Wetzel rolls 3+0-1: 3 3

Jason: Wetzel, you simply can't get to Kang fast enough to hold him. You shout to him to stop, though.
Jason: Kang, do you listen, or go through with it?

Wetzel: "Don't!"

Kang: I'll keep going
Kang: I'll burn two blood points
Kang: and bring my strength score to 5

Jason: OK, Kang burns two blood into Strength.

Jason: Strength + Brawl, difficulty seven, Kang.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}

Jason: You run into him, catching him off guard, tackling him into the stone slab on which Malkav supposedly rests.
Jason: Dex + Athletics, difficulty seven.

dicebot: Kang rolled 3#d10 --> [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}

Kang: kukuku
Kang: I make sure never to make eye contact
Kang: While I'm doing this

Jason: And you regain your footing.

***Jason rolls 6 10-sided dice: 3 1 8 2 8 5

***Jason rolls 4 10-sided dice: 6 10 10 1

Jason: Anselme barely keeps himself upright.
Jason: Combat begins.
Jason: All roll initiative.

Kang: roll d10

dicebot: Kang rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=9 ]{9}

Wetzel: 3

dicebot: Richter rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=1 ]{1}

Richter: YEAH!

Jason: Anselme: 7 + 10 (!), Kang: 6 + 9, Wetzel: 5 + 3, Richter: 5 + 1.
Jason: Actions.

Kang: I'll burn two blood points and raise my dex to 5
Kang: While I'm grappling with Anselme, I'll try to gouge his eyes out.

Richter: I'll look for anything that could be used as a stake while Kang has Anselme busy and distracted.

Kang: I'll push my thumbs into his EYE SOCKETS

Wetzel: Hmm
Wetzel: I run to those two and try to separate them.

Kang: I'm screaming and thrashing about like a madman the entire time.

Jason: Kang, while you and Anselme struggle with one another, you notice that he's attempting to make eye contact with you.

Kang: Like I said earlier.
Kang: I'm doing everything in my power to avoid his eyes.

Jason: However, after a moment, he leans in and whispers into your pointed ears: "I killed the Nosferatu because they were hideous, because they got in my way. And they died like cowards, leaving nothing but ash. Soon you'll join them, until every sewer rat on this Earth is nothing but one giant odious pyre."

***Jason rolls 3 10-sided dice: 2 3 6

Jason: Kang, his voice enrages you, but you're too focused on him to let it ensnare your Beast.
Jason: You go for his eyes: Dexterity + Brawl, difficulty eight.

Kang: I'll use a willpower point
Kang: For an automatic success
Kang: roll 6#d10

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}

Kang: yaaaahhhhhhh
Kang: "I'm going to tear your fucking eyes out!"

Jason: You hideously shoot your thumb into his eyes, and manage to rip his right one clean out of its socket. He stumbles backward in horror, screaming feverishly as he clutches at the bloody wound.

Kang: Am I still grappling with him?

Jason: No, there's a gap between you now. He rests on the slab, trying to regain himself.
Jason: Wetzel, you can choose another action.

Kang: I scream, "Help me!"
Kang: And press forward.

Jason: Anselme shouts at you, "Wetzel, kill him! Shoot him!"

Wetzel: HMMM

Kang: I use my force powers to force push Wetzel out of the building.
Kang: He lands on a spike and dies and his last thoughts are of gay sex.

Wetzel: I run for the body, press my gun against it, and yell "Stop!"

Jason: "Don't you fucking dare!" Anselme screams. "Kill this rat!"

Jason: Richter, roll Wits + Crafts, difficulty seven.

dicebot: Richter rolled 2#d10 --> [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}

Jason: There's nothing around that would make a stake that could withstand the force, unfortunately. You're at a loss.
Jason: And then you all hear a familiar ding behind you.
Jason: The elevator is back, and its mouth opens, revealing the Malkavian Malik, and two large, abrasive-looking men.
Jason: Initiative.

Wetzel: 7

dicebot: Richter rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=9 ]{9}

dicebot: Kang rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=1 ]{1}

Jason: Malik: 6 + 9, Richter: 5 + 9, Wetzel: 5 + 7, Anselme: 7 + 4, Enemy 2: 5 + 4, Kang: 6 + 1, Enemy 1: 5 + 1.
Jason: Malik runs over to Kang and attempts to hold him prone.

***Jason rolls 2 10-sided dice: 9 3

Jason: He clutches Kang and screams maniacally.
Jason: Richter?

Richter: I'm trying to decide on what to do.
Richter: I'll use dread gaze on Malik.
Richter: Then I'll spend three points and increase strength, dexterity and stamina by one.

Jason: Charisma + Intimidation, eight, minus one die.

dicebot: Richter rolled 4#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Jason: Malik notices you and screams, but it only spurs him on to clutch Kang more tightly, in fear, still immobilizing him.
Jason: Wetzel?

Wetzel: I see that my threat isn't doing any good.
Wetzel: It worked once before. I fire the gun into the ceiling.
Wetzel: You know, to get everyone to chill out.

Jason: You fire the gun's last bullet into the cavern, hitting only Earth.

***

Jason: Something is beginning to overtake your mind. It's something like, but not quite a dull scream, coming from somewhere close by. It's... warm, somehow. A siren? You can't tell.

Wetzel: I concentrate and try to discern it.

Jason: Perception + Occult, difficulty nine.

***Wetzel rolls 3+0-1: 10 2

Jason: Malkav is weeping.

***

Jason: As Malik holds you, Kang, Anselme rushes to you and screams once more in your ear: "You WILL die here, under my tower! Forgotten by the world, lost in the dirt!"

***Jason rolls 3 10-sided dice: 9 6 3

Jason: This time you can't fight it, and you look morbidly into his open, bloodied eye socket, and the sight of it terrifies you. You're the merest exertion away from either frenzy or Rotschreck...
Jason: The second of the two men pulls a pistol from his jacket and aims it at you, Richter. He says, "All right, Mr. Belmondo, that's enough. Get on the elevator and wait."
Jason: Your turn, Kang.

Kang: Uhh
Kang: So if I perform an action
Kang: Will I literally go into a frenzy?

Jason: It depends on the action.
Jason: And you will get to roll.
Jason: Not frenzy automatically.

Kang: Okay, I'll try to break away
Kang: From Malik

Jason: Strength + Brawl, six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}

***Jason rolls 2 10-sided dice: 1 7

Jason: You grunt and groan and rip your way out of Malik's desperate arms.
Jason: Self-Control, difficulty six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 4#d10 --> [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Kang: woosh

Jason: Kang, the other man Malik brought down here shoots at you.

***Jason rolls 4 10-sided dice: 8 2 9 1

***Jason rolls 5 10-sided dice: 9 7 6 6 1

***Jason rolls 2 10-sided dice: 9 3

Jason: The bullet grazes your ribs, and you take a point of bashing damage.
Jason: Self-Control, difficulty five.

dicebot: Kang rolled 4#d10 --> [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}

Kang: kukuku

Jason: Excellent.
Jason: Initiative.

dicebot: Kang rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

dicebot: Richter rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=6 ]{6}

Wetzel: 1

Jason: Anselme: 7 + 10, Kang: 6 + 7, Enemy 1: 5 + 7, Enemy 2: 5 + 7, Richter: 5 + 6, Malik: 6 + 4, Wetzel: 5 + 1.
Jason: Anselme turns around, wiping his face. He reaches to a small, plastic tube that sits curled up upon the man on the slab, and puts it in his mouth, and frantically begins to suck on it.
Jason: His eyeball grows back, and he spits it out again, plugging it up with a small bit of rubber.

Kang: Man
Kang: I have no idea what to do.
Kang: Hmm
Kang: I'm tempted to try grabbing one of those tubes

Richter: this fight just got kind of stupid.

Kang: This boss is strong!

Richter: Especially since Wetzel isn't helping us!

Jason: Thanks for the feedback.

Richter: It's more his 8 million henchmen.
Richter: I guess our best bet is to take out his blood supply.

Kang: There's one big tube going into the body on the slab, right?

Richter: Also we could try killing Malik, since killing the other Malkavian sent him into a comatose state.

Jason: Yes, above the body is a suspended glass vat of blood, slowly pouring into him.

Kang: I'll grab the tube connecting the body and the vat and try to tear it or break it

Jason: Dex + Athletics, difficulty five.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Jason: You duck under Anselme and grab the tube connecting the vat and Malkav's mouth. You pull it fiercely and it comes undone, slipping out of his throat, where it must have been plunged nearly a foot. The blood from the vat trickles out of its end.
Jason: The first enemy fires his gun once more at you, Kang.

***Jason rolls 4 10-sided dice: 7 5 6 3

***Jason rolls 6 10-sided dice: 9 1 5 8 1 7

Jason: But it does no damage to you, at this point.
Jason: Then Anselme screams "Don't you dare fire in this direction, you idiot!"
Jason: The second enemy steps closer to you, Richter, and points the barrel of his gun directly against your heart.
Jason: "Come on," he says gruffly.
Jason: Your turn.

Richter: I'll look him directly in the eye and use mesmerize.
Richter: "Kill Malik, and the man shooting at Kang, and Anselme Pavel."

Jason: Manipulation + Leadership, seven, minus one die.

dicebot: Richter rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}

Jason: He lowers his gun. "I... uh... I can't do that?" he asks. "Can I?" He's not obeying, but he's also lost his train of thought completely.

Richter: I guess that's kind of successful.

Jason: Kang, are you still holding the tube you pulled?

Kang: Yes.

Jason: Malik runs at you and tries to snatch it from your hands, screaming that you mustn't do what you've done.

Jason: Resisted, Dexterity + Dodge, difficulty six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}

***Jason rolls 5 10-sided dice: 7 8 4 7 9

Jason: HUM.
Jason: You tussle for it, and you drop it, but he isn't able to grab it where it falls.
Jason: Wetzel?

***

Jason: Malkav screams.
Jason: The siren warmth is growing and growing. You need to shut it up, but... God, there must be some way to end this...

***

Wetzel: I scream at the old man on the slab.
Wetzel: "Shut up!"
Wetzel: I drop the gun.
Wetzel: Desperately, I grab the rubber tube that Anselme drank from.
Wetzel: "Anselme!"

Jason: "Yes, Wetzel, do it! Do it!" he shouts at you.

Wetzel: I throw my head back, pinch my eyes shut, put it in my mouth and let the blood drain down my throat.

***

Jason: Malkav almost seems to be breathing, in your mind, gasping with the tube out of his throat. He is begging you, wordlessly.
Jason: There's no way to articulate what he's asking.
Jason: Only that it ends.

Wetzel: You mean he stops speaking?

Jason: No, he's asking that it end.

***

Kang: This is some gay thing
Kang: They're boyfriends now

Jason: Wetzel, you've never tasted anything like this before. It's the greatest pleasure you have ever experienced. You could keep drinking and drinking until the Earth caved in on itself, and you wouldn't care.
Jason: Do you attempt to stop drinking, or will you keep going?

Richter: Keep drinking!

Wetzel: Keep going.

Jason: You drink and drink and drink. Anselme waves his men down, smiling and laughing as he watches you.
Jason: You've drunk to your fullest, but you're not done. You remove the tube and vomit up a puddle of blood, then go right back to it and drink more.
Jason: Your fangs are reflexively outstretched, and your skin is somehow losing color.
Jason: Your blood pool is filled to maximum.
Jason: You lose a point of Humanity.
Jason: You gain a point in Auspex and Obfuscate, and two in Dementation.
Jason: Finally, the rest of you notice that the tubes leading out of the body have cleared. They've run dry.
Jason: This man is drained.
Jason: Wetzel, you fall to the ground in euphoria.

***

Jason: Malkav is screaming, and the Network is on fire, but its frenzy is ambiguous.
Jason: You feel an overwhelming warmness, in your mind.
Jason: The entire Network seems like it's inhaled.

***

Jason: "Excellent," Anselme says. "Malik, hurry, reattach it."
Jason: Malik grabs the tube and attempts to shove it down Malkav's throat again, it still spurting blood.

Wetzel: Did combat end?

Jason: Yes.

Kang: Man

Jason: The cavern is silent and still, as everyone pauses.

Kang: I'm at a loss as to what to do.

Jason: Kang and Richter, Perception + Occult, difficulty six.

dicebot: Richter rolled d10 --> [ 1d10=8 ]{8}

dicebot: Kang rolled 5#d10 --> [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}

Jason: You once more share a glance. It occurs to you that the tubes running from Malkav's body hook into the cavern's walls... almost like electrical cords. Now, Malik is plugging Malkav up again, attempting to refill him, but if you could prevent that... maybe it would affect the tower itself...

Wetzel: I roll around on the ground. My face is somewhere between ecstasy and horror.

Kang: I'll push Malkav off of the slab.

Richter: Yeah I'll try to cut the tubes with my sword.

Jason: Dex + Athletics, seven, Kang.

Richter: Oh And I'll use two blood points to further bring my dexterity up to five.

dicebot: Kang rolled 5#d10 --> [ 1d10=7 ]{7}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=3 ]{3}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}

Jason: Richter, you run to the nearest tube and sever it. Anselme sees you and shouts "No! Don't do that!"

Richter: I'll go for the next one and keep going after them.

Jason: Kang, you rush the body and push him over, but Malik scrambles around and still attempts to push it back in.
Jason: The second enemy sees what you're doing, Richter, and he tries to tackle you to the ground.

***Jason rolls 7 10-sided dice: 2 1 6 6 7 3 6

Jason: He does so, barreling into you.
Jason: Roll Dex + Athletics, seven.

dicebot: Richter rolled 5#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Wetzel: In a moment of lucidity I attempt to gain control of my body and mind.

Jason: Kang, you're starting to feel like battling for control of Malkav is a fool's errand between you and Malik. However, as he tries again to stick the tube back in, you realize there might be some way to cut this problem off at the source.

***Jason rolls 6 10-sided dice: 2 5 4 9 8 5

***Jason rolls 5 10-sided dice: 1 2 3 3 2

Jason: You escape the enemy's tackle, Richter, taking no damage, but you're tripped up.

Kang: Can I reach the giant vat?
Kang: It's suspended over the body, right?

Jason: You can't... but it is glass...
Jason: Wetzel, you regain some semblance of control.

Kang: I'll pull out my shotgun and shoot the fucking vat

Jason: Dex + Firearms, difficulty five.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=4 ]{4}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}

Jason: Everything stops.
Jason: The vat explodes in slow motion, shards of glass flying everywhere. The blood cascades out of it, pooling around the bare stone slab. Anselme's eyes open wide in horror as he screams "N... no!" and falls to his knees.
Jason: Both of the enemy men instantly drop to the ground, dead.
Jason: Malik quivers in fear and stupidly attempts to force the tube back down into the body, despite it being attached to nothing.
Jason: And then the body starts to disintegrate.
Jason: Slowly, slowly, it turns to ash.

Wetzel: I stand up.

Kang: I'll run at Anselme
Kang: And I'll fire at him.

Richter: Yeah I'll rush Anselme and start attacking him with my sword.

Kang: "You bastard!"

Richter: "This is the end for you, Anselme Pavel!"

Jason: Kang, you blow a shotgun blast directly into Anselme's face, ripping off huge chunks of flesh on his head, neck and shoulder. Richter, you stab him through the abdomen and drive him back into the cavern wall.
Jason: Wetzel, Anselme looks at you, helplessly. "Brother..." he whispers.
Jason: Malik runs forward at the last second and desperately pushes the two of you away.

Kang: I'll spin at Malik and fire at him
Kang: "No, he is going to DIE FOR ALL OF THIS!"

Richter: While Malik is getting shot.
Richter: I'll cut off Anselme Pavel's head.

Jason: Dexterity + Firearms, difficulty six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=1 ]{1}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=6 ]{6}, [ 1d10=2 ]{2}, [ 1d10=7 ]{7}

Richter: "This has to end now!"
Richter: And I'll use a willpower point for an automatic success.
Richter: If there is a roll.
Richter: And use 2 blood points to take my dex back up to 5.

Jason: Kang, you fire at Malik and hit him in the head, exploding it, spraying blood and brains all over the stone slab.
Jason: Anselme lets out a small, terrified noise.
Jason: He looks at you, Richter, and says "All I ever wanted was..."
Jason: And you slice.
Jason: His body slumps to the ground, and his head a moment later.
Jason: Wetzel, a chorus rings in your ears.

Richter: I put my sword away and collapse on my knees in exhaustion.

Wetzel: I gaze at Anselme's corpse, my expression unchanged.

Kang: I rush over to Wetzel
Kang: I grip the barrel of the shotgun
Kang: And swing it at his head
Kang: "You're WORTHLESS!"

Jason: Kang, Dexterity + Melee, difficulty six.

dicebot: Kang rolled 6#d10 --> [ 1d10=5 ]{5}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=10 ]{10}, [ 1d10=9 ]{9}

Kang: That's a homerun!

***Jason rolls 6 10-sided dice: 7 8 2 3 8 10

***Jason rolls 1 10-sided die: 6

Jason: God ...
Jason: Wetzel, the shotgun comes blazing at you faster that you could ever have prepared for. There's a blinding white light as you feel your skull break open.

Wetzel: Augh!

Jason: You fall to the side like a rag doll and take three levels of lethal damage.
Jason: Self-control, difficulty ten.
Jason: You might want to use a Willpower point if you want to avoid this.
Jason: Extended. Five necessary.
Jason: One thing, though, Kang, is that you hit him so hard that the gun broke.

Wetzel: Yes, I'll spend a willpower point.

***Wetzel rolls 3: 10 7 3

Jason: Three successes. You keep control of yourself, despite the Beast inside you screaming with greater rage than you've ever known.
Jason: Sigmund runs up to you to check on you.

Kang: I'm staring at Wetzel
Kang: I suddenly gesture back at Richter
Kang: "I'm fighting for my life against an unstoppable force. And both of you just stand there."
Kang: "Both of you have been worthless throughout this entire ordeal."
Kang: "I should KILL you, Wetzel."

Richter: "You tried to run way, and I was trying to help you."

Kang: I throw what's left of my shotgun at Wetzel.

Richter: "You don't need to be so hostile to the people who allowed you to survive this situation."

Kang: And I head towards the elevator.

Richter: I begin leaving as well.

Jason: All right, Wetzel, you quell the Beast entirely, but you lose a permanent Willpower point.
Jason: The effects of your drink are wearing off. Your Auspex, Obfuscate and Dementation dots all return (or grow) to one, and your blood seems thicker... your generation may have improved...

Wetzel: I stand up.
Wetzel: "I don't deserve to live, you're right."
Wetzel: "But neither do you, blood sucker."
Wetzel: "And neither did he."

Kang: I'm ignoring him.
Kang: I shove Richter.

Kang: "You're NEARLY as bad as him."
Kang: "Isn't something supposed to happen when you do your LOOK INTO MY EYES shit?"

Richter: "You're both self-serving monsters."
Richter: "And I'm done with you."
Richter: I once again begin leaving.

Kang: "All you do is stare at people and then, well, nothing happens!"

Richter: "I saved the person who gave us the information necessary to stop Pavel?"
Richter: "What did you do?"

Kang: "What did she tell us?"

Richter: "Kill Zero and put him in a pile of shit and try to run away?"

Kang: "Did she tell you to stand there and watch me fight Anselme Pavel to the death?"

Richter: "She told us that something in the tower was the heart of his power and we needed to destroy it."

Wetzel: "Zero ..."

Richter: "How else do you think we figured out that we needed to destroy that Methuselah."

Kang: "You said nothing to me about destroying the the glass vat. That had absolutely no connection to you saving that bitch."

Richter: "Oh I suppose your brilliant plan to leave the city allowed us to succeed in the end?"

Kang: "You are worthless."
Kang: "A LUMP OF SHIT."

Richter: "You did nothing at all."
Richter: "You are a self-serving coward."

Kang: "Uh huh."

Jason: The elevator door is open for whomever wants to enter it. Will all three of you go up together?

Kang: I'll press whatever button I need to
Kang: I go in first.

Richter: I'll go in as well.
Richter: Before he can hit the door shut button.

Wetzel: I pick up the dog and step inside.

Jason: Kang hits the L button and the elevator begins to rise. The three of you stand uncomfortably together as it goes.

Wetzel: "What happened to Zero?"

Kang: "Who cares"

Wetzel: I decide that answer is good enough.
Wetzel: "Is Lucy alright?"

Richter: "Yes, she's at my place."

Wetzel: "Good."

Kang: The entire time up
Kang: I'm gritting my teeth and clinching my fists.
Kang: I can barely contain my rage.

Richter: I use awe.

Jason: Charisma + Performance, difficulty seven.

dicebot: Richter rolled 3#d10 --> [ 1d10=9 ]{9}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}, [ 1d10=8 ]{8}

Jason: fuuuuuuuuuu

Kang: hahahaha
Kang: Of course it works now
Kang: Richter is such a good and useful character

Jason: Kang, your anger at Richter is fading away. Wetzel, you feel as if he's a protective, nurturing figure.

Jason: The elevator stops.
Jason: The doors open back to the lobby, and it is has changed dramatically.
Jason: There is no more dazzling ivory, everything is now a dull, cardboard-colored brown. The entire place is misery, and soulless.

Wetzel: "I was thinking this tower might be inherited by the Ventrue its previous owner admired."
Wetzel: "But now I'm not sure you'd want it."

Richter: "I'm going to take the city he wanted."
Richter: "With Lucy's help I'll become Prince."
Richter: "And Vance Cunningham will become mayor and be my puppet."

Kang: I'll walk quickly to my van.

Jason: You can't bring yourself to leave Richter's presence, Kang.

Kang: This is so unacceptable.

Richter: "This all worked out quite well for me."

Kang: Okay, I'll stand there and say nothing.

Richter: "In a way Anselme Pavel got exactly what he wanted."
Richter: "I know you want to leave the city Kang. It would make me happy for you to accomplish that. Goodbye."

Wetzel: "Anselme told me he had escaped the Malkavian curse."
Wetzel: "He might even have believed it."

Richter: "His goals were admirable even if his methods were monstrous."

Wetzel: "No. He wanted to advance the place of vampires in the world."

Richter: "No he wanted to make everyone equals."
Richter: "Except he wanted to make himself superior to everyone else."
Richter: "Which is why he was a monster."

Jason: You all step outside Decimus now.
Jason: The chill catches you immediately, sucking your words away in the wind. From the outside, the tower looks... decayed. Ashen.
Jason: Kang's van rests halfway on the curb.
Jason: Sigmund moans in the cold.
Jason: Where will you go?

Richter: I use my cell phone to call a cab.
Richter: And go back to my apartment to rest.

Wetzel: "So really, what happened to Zero?"

Richter: "He became a slave to Anselme Pavel, and now he's in torpor in the sewer somewhere."
Richter: "We had to stake him because there was no way to remove Anselme Pavel's hold on him."

Wetzel: "Serves him right."
Wetzel: I walk with Sigmund at my side back to my place.

Jason: And Kang?

Kang: Oh
Kang: I'll drive back to my place.
Kang: I'm leaving Nauset.
Kang: I'll make the necessary arrangements to move all of my shit to another city.

Jason: Richter, you hail a taxi back to your home, where you find an awakened Lucy recuperating on your bed, where you left her. She's so pleasantly surprised to see you that she runs to you and kisses you, without saying a word. You can tell that somehow, she knows what's happened.
Jason: Wetzel, you make the long walk back home with Sigmund, hoping for the cold to offer some kind of redemption, as it eats away at your bones. It has nothing for you, though, the walk is lonely, even with your friend. You feel more monstrous now than you ever have in your five years, and you wonder if you'll ever truly recover.
Jason: When you finally reach your home, Sigmund runs back over to his dog bowl to eat, and you notice the book that Anselme gave you... still turned to the page on Malkav...
Jason: Kang, you make a slow, laborious drive to your mansion, step out, and take one last look at it. The ash, the scars, the dismantled sewer gate, the bloodstains. Everything that was shit about Nauset weighs on you like the world on your shoulders. You can't even bear to go inside. You hop back in your car and take the same road as you did before, heading to the next city. You'll send for your things.
Jason: End of Game, fellows.

Wetzel: We did it!
Wetzel: Oh, don't forget to do an epilogue for Zero.
