It's very difficult to think of characters that are generally associated with Nintendo that either aren't already in, or aren't owned by some other party. Mega Man, for instance.

Mario cast is perfectly represented with Peach, Luigi, Bowser, Mario and Yoshi. If they had to add another character it should be the Koopa Kids where each one is a different skin for the character

King Dedede should have been the second Kirby character anyone else is just fucking gay (there are already too many swordusers Metaknight is gay and unnecessary).

Samurai Goroh will probably be a second F-Zero character.

There's no reason to add another Starfox character although Falco should be different and Fox needs to be nerfed tremendously.

Zelda series is perfectly fine with Link, Ganondorf and Zelda. Ganondorf needs to be given his own moveset, and Sheik needs to be removed.

Take out Pichu and Mewtwo and replace them with Psyduck, and the Pokemon cast is perfect.

Replace Roy with Hector or a none sword user from Fire Emblem (Ephraim or Ashnard could work as well).

Add in Diddy Kong if there has to be another Donkey Kong character, although most people are fine without him.

Add in Jeff from Earthbound (rather than Poo who would just be a Ness clone).

Zero Suit Samus is fucking retarded, replace that shit with either Ridley or Dark Samus (Ridley is preferable).

Kid Icarus is a good addition, but he should be accompanied by Little Mac. Iceclimbers are alright, but I'd rather have the guy from Balloon Fight. Game and Watch needs to be made into a usable character if they are going to keep him.

Third Party wise Simon Belmont should be in instead of Solid Snake, Megaman and Sonic should also make up the other third party characters. Billy and Jimmy Lee, Ryu Hayabusa, the main character of Contra and the guy from Adventure Island are also good choices.
