MOO2 has a very small learning curve for a turn based game.
Anyway, you can actually control the ships and have them blow shit up, or you can let it all be computer controlled.
We should all play NWN multiplayer, since it's much better than BG2. |

Although MOO2 is probably better multiplayer, and it really is pretty easy to learn if you've ever played a turn based strategy game before. Rice you really should learn how to play it.
I just picked up Galactic Civ 2 today with the expansion. I'm going to give that a try. It's a shame it doesn't have multiplayer. |

I'll play Alpha Centauri if we get enough people so that human players are the majority. |

Alpha Centauri would actually take a lot longer because,
A. You really should play with blind tech tree as the game was intended (although that gives people like me who has a lot of familiarity with the game an advantage).
B. The game will spend a bit of time after every turn moving all the computer units rather than doing it seemlessly like MOO2.
C. Moving units and terraforming the land for colonies is a much more laborious process and inevitably certain players (Peter) are going to have three hour turns.
D. The expansion destroys quite a bit of the balance in the game, and frankly the new factions were lame (in my opinion).
I guess it would be easy to get around this. Remove cpu opponents (ideally have seven players because it makes things more interesting the expansion would be good for this because it would provide more option for faction choice), play without a blind tech tree (blasphemy!), and make plans to take play the game in multiple sittings.
On that note, if we ever do play it the Gaians are my faction. I won't have anyone else trying to steal the space hippies out from under me. |

Splinter Cell is such a terrible game. I don't know where people got the idea that you'd enjoy playing as a blind spy. |

Well I'm finally starting to figure out Galactic Civilizations 2 (reading strategies is kind of worthless in a way since the expansion apparently changed quite a bit in particular about the early game). It's really a shame there isn't any multiplayer as it's probably the best turn based strategy game that I've ever played. |

My biggest complaint about Galactic civ 2 is that you have to invade every planet you can't just bombard them into oblivion meaning that conquest takes a lot more time.
Also the random events can be a killer. Having to fight the dread lords halfway into the game certainly didn't help. |

I avoided that game on seanbaby's advice. anyway if youre serious about this lets go this summer. Otherwise you're just pipedreaming per usual.
