My girlfriend hated these guys. She knew, like so many of you critics, that all they did was jam the same song for hours on end. Their lyrics were nonsensical; not worth the effort it takes to listen. Since she had never actually seen them perform, I took her to a couple of shows. Now she's a huge Phan, plays their CD's all the time. She'd rather be at a phish concert than anywhere. Oh yeah, and she's from Austin TX. Grew up with music. Her dad was a tour manager. She just has great taste!

But I bet most of you would rather be listening to Lady Gaga. Considering the state of popular music these days, I'm really glad you guys are haters. So please don't ever go to a show. We don't need any more phans. It's been too damn hard to get tickets to see the best band in the land perform these last couple of years anyway. So just don't go, and don't listen closely either, for that might suck you in, and it'll just make it harder for those of us who know better.
