Man, I was really into this, but Super Ted made it seem like a bad idea. From what he says, Australia is expensive, cold, grim, and everyone is a racist. |

You should probably not consider a country that invaded Iraq. |

New zealand is about as twice as expensive as Australia and a lot colder. Its very warm up in queensland and its a bit cheaper than the southern cities.
Northern territory has far too many abos so i would steer very clear of there but from what i have heard perth is a very awsome city and cheaper than everywhere else. |

I was going to make a comment about people in the southern hemisphere complaining about the cold, but then I remembered that MADali lived in a desert, so temperature is probably very important to him. |

Well it depends on what sort of job you want. i seems that its very easy for a sand person to get a job at a petrol station, but then you would have to take orders from a indian. Actually, its pretty easy to get a job.
If you ran out of money you could always go live with fabio69. |

Theldorrin's suggestion of New Zealand was not as bad as I thought.
My choices are basically english-speaking countries, as I dont want to face language difficulties, so it is, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and UK.
My goal is to study film and try to survive long enough to get a citizenship. USA citizenship is almost impossible now, so that is an easy strike. Canada seems like it would be the perfect place to go 10 years ago. UK is expensive and again citizenship difficulties.
Which leaves Australia and New Zealand, both of which have almost identical laws. I can go on a student visa, which I can turn into a work permit, into a permanent residency into a full citizenship in 5 years. Australia seems more lively, thats why it was my first choice.
However, it seems New Zealand is very much cheaper. |

My friend went to new zealand recently and said it was so expensive that it was cheaper to eat at a restaurant rather than buy food and cook something yourself. And it is very hard to become a Asutralian citizen as far as i know. My wifes step father is English and it was very difficult for him to get his citizenship even though he is married to a Australian. The immigration people over here are idiots though. |

I think NZ should be fine. I've be able to easily take a 1 year course, plus living expenses for 1 year, without any worries. |
