Rita is pretty/beautiful whatever, but in the most boring possible way and it utterly vanishes into cuntishness.

Well one of the implications is that Debra is just as smart as Dexter, she's just impatient and pissed off most of the time so she's not quite as able to produce the same results.

They wouldn't have put her investigation into the fourth season if it wasn't going to have a strong bearing on the fifth, seeing as how it had absolutely nothing to do with the Trinity plotline, to the point where every scene of her looking into the Harry stuff feels completely shoehorned in and out of place.

So yeah, they're definitely planning something big.

In the novels she knows by the second book!

And in the novels he's teaching the kids about The Code and whatnot.

Which sounds gay and retarded, but I've learned over the years that even the gayest-sounding ideas can be pulled off.

I'm not going to read them regardless. I got a few pages into the first one and it was basically unreadable. Maybe it gets better, I don't know (and don't care).

It just fundamentally doesn't work if Debra (or just about anyone else, but especially Debra) knows the truth about Dexter. The whole thing just breaks. The show relies on the tension of nobody knowing!

So I'm hoping the writers DON'T get there, which, like I said, is where it seems to be going.

My hope is that the 5th season will be mostly about everyone THINKING Dexter killed Rita, including Debra, and she'll be suspicious based on the brother-of-Ice-Truck-Killer revelation, but that ultimately she won't find out.
