They're currently called "character action games" and you should get other Platinum and Platinum-legacy games like Bayonetta and Vanquish and Devil May Cry if you like it.

You should also get Dark Souls, but not for any reminiscence to Revengeance.

Yeah, any Clover or Platinum games would be right up your alley. The Ninja Gaiden games would right up an adjacent alley as well.

I'd think of Zelda as more of a puzzle game than a (character) action game. I'm not sure how you'd define Dark Souls really. I suppose it would be a character action game but it's almost more like running through a temple of traps (wherein many of the traps are enemies.) in how you generally handle combat.
