I've probably read 20 books by him without ever seeking him out or considering myself a fan.

I'm halfway through Rose Madder right now and I'm losing my mind wondering how the book can resolve everything in 250 pages instead of 10.

*spoilers*

She just stepped into her magic painting, so I guess the answer to "how" might be "terribly"

I've never read a Steven King book, and I never intend to. I've read a small amount of his Dark Tower, or whatever fantasy series, and it seemed pretty boring.

Horror is pretty awful genre all around.

Stephen King is bullshit as can clearly be seen by the print and film versions of the Langoliers, and the film version of Thinner.

Have you read the print version of Thinner? Because there's magic pie no matter what version of the story you get.

The magic pie is something I would have made up when I was barely old enough to speak.

-Carrie
-The Shining
-The Long Walk
-Cujo (I have no idea why I read this one other than to make myself go insane with grief [although I guess Carrie upset me more])
-Pet Sematary
-Thinner
-Misery (my fave!)
-Different Seasons

8 isn't that much considering he's an author with over 40 books, so I apologize to everyone for overstating my accomplishment. I do own most of his books, though, and have ambition to read more of them after I finish Rose Madder. And I've read the better part of Night Shift, Skeleton Crew, and Nightmares & Dreamscapes, but his short stories really don't do much for me for some reason.

I like his short stories better.

Running Man is a pretty depressing story, especially compared to Arnold Schwarzenegger firing that guy into a billboard of himself.

I read hell of Stephen King books in high school, but now i can't even care to read the rest of the Dark Tower series.
I like The Shining movie with Jack Nicholson and the book was just okay.

Misery is such an awful movie. I can't bear to watch it for more than a few minutes at a time.

I'm going to assume by awful you mean horrifying, and not that it was a bad movie.

The Shining was an okay movie though. I can't imagine why someone would find it very scary though. Maybe the book is scarier, but I doubt it.

Misery is far and away the greatest movie based on a Stephen King horror story (I'm not going to fight Shawshank, Green Mile, or Stand By Me, even if they're GAY), and one of my all-time favorite movies.

Misery disgusts me. I've never watched the whole movie, so maybe it's good, but the woman makes me want to vomit, so I'll never know.

I've read It, Carrie, Salem's Lot, the Tommyknockers, both Pet Semataries, Night Shift, the Skeleton Crew, the Shining, and some other shit. I love the short story novels, but I think It is probably my favorite and I found it genuinely scary.
