I bet I could eat McDonald's and lose weight, since no doubt the food would only remain within my stomach for a minute at best before rocketing out of my asshole. |

It's so great how Vinny rarely actually contributes to a discussion in a subjective manner; instead he either makes the connection with MANGA or his horrendous intestinal problems. |

If your entire life was composed of manga and horrible maladies, you'd probably be the same way. |

MADali, you're so stupid, and I'm retroactively changing my opinions on 300 and Live Free or Die Hard just because it kills me to know I could be as wrong about them as you are about this. |

Mautty, someone from new mexico bragging about how conservative he is is like a rich kid bragging about how ghetto he is. He has some valid points but fuck that baby
You will never ever live in a truly conservative state. FUck that "duh NM is "turning" red. Friggin' California is more red than NM is.
No wonder spic nations suck |

Most "bad" food isn't as bad as people make it out to be, nor is the "good" food as good as people make it out to be.
People are real shitheads about food.
Human beings are pretty omnivorous and good at breaking shit down pretty efficiently, and adapting to situations where not all the vitamins and whatnot are present in the diet.
I guess maybe I'm biased in feeling this way because I stopped eating bread for almost a month and saw no difference, and I used to go for fucking weeks without eating a single vegetable, and there have been times when my diet was almost completely fast food and cereal, and lately I've been eating fucking healthier than I ever thought possible, and I didn't see any major changes during any of these periods. The greatness of healthy eating, and the badness of unhealthy eating, is all completely overstated, at least in my experience.
What DOES make a noticeable difference, in terms of weight and energy levels, is portion sizes, eating frequency, timing, and shit like that.
So my feeling about Super Size Me is like what some people are saying here. The guy ate a lot of fucking food! |

Chris, I know that at least you're trying hard and actually doing things with your life that help you gather information, but when you talk only about your own experience using your own body you're not saying much. |

A guy I knew had a relative (I don't remember which relative) who smoked for his whole life (He lived to be 100) and did not die of cancer.
But go on and cling to your medical establishment, which actually makes its money by KEEPING you sick. |

The only point of vitamins and such is to protect you from certain diseases (like scurvy).
You basically can eat like shit and not see any major short term problems (excluding stuff that you have an intolerance to, since then you'll be like Vinny).
And even bad food probably has the minimal amount of nutrients to fend off gay diseases. |

After I overhauled my diet earlier this year, it took nearly a month for my weight to start going down, but once it did it kept going and going for a while. But that's just me; everyone's individual metabolism is subtlety unique. I think managing your own weight/health is as much a process of discovering how your own body functions as it is of following general guidelines and recommendations.
I have been taking vitamins and consuming lots of protein (hehe) for a while now, and I've noticed that I tend to get sick less often. And when I do, it seems like I recover quickly. I've heard the same from others who have done the same, which is hardly conclusive in and of itself, but is something to think about. And agrees with what most nutrition experts would say.
And overall, I simply feel healthier and better. I'm sure it is in part mental, but I don't think that invalidates it. |
