I don't think the Crossfire people made very good points, or Jon Stewart for that matter.
Television debate is often of lower quality than something you'd see on a Gamefaqs forum. |

Big Fagot's post baffles me because I don't believe I ever said anything remotely to that effect. |

The more I think about Bill Clinton, the more impressed I am with him, even with his faults (getting his dick sucked doesn't count). |

The Daily Show existed when Bill Clinton was in office, and it was better when Bill Clinton was in office. It's not really the show's fault that it got overly political. It's the fault of overly imcompetant politicians. If the Daily Show had remained light, it would be fake. Watching an actual speech by George Bush now is funnier than watching the Daily Show. The show's honestly doing the best it can.
And saying Jon Stewart hides behind being on a comedy show is ridiculous. I mean, he's absolutely right when he brings that up on Cross Talk. The Daily Show was just a comedy show long before it became politicized. It's not like it was some scheme all along to have a terribly biased political show and disguise it as a comedy so nobody could call you on it. Comedy Central made that show to rip off Weekend Update and make it a half hour long. Then politicians got so inept and blatantly corrupt -- and controlled so many of the major news sources -- that the guys who were supposed to make fun of the whole parade started looking like the most legitimate thing around. And now "real news anchors" are all high-fiving eachother for one-upping a comedian once in every hundred exchanges. It's pathetic.
It's all cable's fault Bush is in office, really. People that don't have cable don't get anything THAT slanted to the right besides FOX. People with cable get ten channels in a row of BUSH ISN'T THAT BAD ALL DAY EVERY DAY and then one comedy show's hour-a-night of left-wing rebuttals.
In conclusion, we need a good administration, so the Daily Show can go back to making fun of stupid hick retards who AREN'T the president. |

I like how Theldorrin gave Mike the benefit of the doubt that he didn't think it was spelled "Steward," and that he actually hit the D while aiming for the T, since they are right next to eachother. |

My post was supposed to make Derek say "What does Bill Clinton have to do with anything?" and go looking for it, but I should have just said "Do you have everybody except me killfiled?" |

I don't understand how you'd diagram a sentence with "each other" as two words. Does each modify other or something? It should be one word.
If themselves is one word, eachother should be as well.
"They jack themselves off." (sentence ends in preposition)
"They jack eachother off." (sentence ends in preposition)
It's the same thing.
Language is constantly evolving. |

Ah, math-oriented engineers who anal-retentively cling to useless grammar conventions to try to put down anybody who thinks in terms of ideas instead of rules.
If it were up to people like you, we'd still be speaking in "art thou"'s and shit. |

Actually, we'd probably just grunt at eachother.

That's pretty ironic considering you mentioned diagramming sentences to begin with. |

Diagramming sentences is actually useful. You don't have to be a grammar nazi to hold onto that. Language without sentence diagrams is like physics without formulas. It's bound to degenerate into nonsense. |
