People really don't seem to get me in REGARDS to my LOVE of JAPAN. I guess I could be the INTERNET ANIME ERA's CHRIS PSAROS, although I'm not even a speck compared to most anime fans on the Internet. It's just HERE that I SHINE. My enthusiasm goes far beyond my actual power level.

I'm just going to chart my EXPERIENCE with ANIME because that's the easiest way to do it.

IT ALL STARTED when I was like 10 when my DAD, who is into SCIENCE FICTION and the WARHAMMER 40K novels and shit, got M.D. GEIST and AKIRA from his FRIEND. He gave them to me and that shit blew me away, but it didn't really have that ENTICING EFFECT since it was incredibly violent and I was just a little kid. I actually remember thinking that TOO MUCH VIOLENCE was STUPID AND UNREALISTIC as a KID, and just PUNCHING REALLY HARD and maybe drawing a little blood from the lip (DBZ) was better.

Then I guess nothing happened and I would occasionally get an anime VHS and see something crazy, like cartoon titties. Then one MORNING I woke up and the saw the very FIRST EPISODE OF DRAGON BALL like 5:30 in the morning. It was awesome because Bulma peed herself at the end and Goku rode logs down a hill. I then watched and taped every episode religiously and I remember shitting my pants when Chi Chi cut that dinosaur's head off.

Then one day I missed an episode and KLANMEISTER told me that DRAGON BALL was on again but GOKU WAS AN ADULT and he was FIGHTING HIS BROTHER. To make a long story short, I FUCKING FLIPPED OUT over DRAGON BALL Z and thought it was the absolute best. I remember seeing all the MYSTERIOUS DBZ ACTION FIGURES at the back of GAMEFAN. I also got wall posters and shit and this was all before the FREIZA SAGA.

I also religiously started taping all anime, but that wasn't such a big deal since I, for some reason, recorded any television show I had a passing interest in. So that meant I had tons of episodes of SAMURAI PIZZA CATS and even SAILOR MOON. Jesus.

Anyway, I simply stopped caring after awhile when the MAGIC OF ANIME was gone. DBZ was off the air (although some cities were getting the FREIZA SAGA before it was on Cartoon Network). By the time the FREIZA SAGA came on Cartoon Network I had lost all interest. The days of going to my friend's house and printing over a 100 pages of DBZ info on a dot matrix printer were over.

And basically, that continued for several years, into the second or third Fagtown board. Then I GOT A CABLE MODEM and decided to put it to use by DOWNLOADING WHATEVER SHIT I could get ahold of.

And essentially, I became the Vinny you know today. Although I don't watch any anime anymore and just read several manga series. As for ANIME RELATED POSSESSIONS, here's what I can remember that I have.

6 of the 7 Jojo DVDs.
7 Lupin III DVDs.
Street Fighter Alpha: The Movie (I bought this for the minute of Dan footage, basically)
A random Ruroni Kenshin DVD that I later threw away and only bought because it was recommended by Yogurtman
The entirety of Cowboy Bebop
Akira (it came in a cool metal case, so I bought it)
All of Hellsing

And I think that's it. For other ANIME SHIT, I have 7 or 8 Japanese Jojo volumes and both JOJO ARTBOOKS, one of which was this incredibly elaborate book that cost 100 dollars (my gayest purchase, although I don't regret it). Then I own a few volumes of English Berserk and all of English Jojo.

That's about it!

Yeah Vinny is pretty useless. He just likes very specific series and gets retardedly excited about those.

But he does a lot for the communities of those particular series!

I would buy multiple copies of Animerica and leave them in strategic places around my high school, hoping that somebody would pick them up and read them and become interested, and maybe be my anime friend.

I knew that the connection would be made, because if anybody said "where did this come from?" people would know who to direct them to, because I was actually known for being "the guy who likes Japanese cartoons."

And much like Derek Payne, my Japanophilia is mainly relegated to video games.

The only slightly obscure thing I've seen is Kiddy Grade.

And that's because Gainax basically makes borderline hentai.

A link to it was posted on the board, Rice!

Theldorrin, I am including some things that I have only seen one or two episodes of. I've probably seen most/all of a majority of the titles, though.

Man, I think my anime/manga possessions might make me gayer than Vinny.

I have four JoJo action figures, a Ryoko action figure (o gawd) and a Guts action figure.

9 volumes of Jojo part 6 in CHINESE
All of the Berserk manga out now
Tenchi Muyo: Ryoohki and 3 DVDs of Tenchi Universe
Cowboy Bebop: THE MUTHAFUCKIN' MOVIE

Man, fuck Japan.
