It's not THAT annoying, and it is impossible to hear the word "superbowl" without thinking it, but so many people I know think it's their joke that they invented and are all YOU SAY SUPERB OWL TOOOO???
The NFL put up a sign in Alamo Square saying SUPERBOWL and vandals rearranged it to UP R BOWEL. Lol. |

"Brother in law".
There are like 12 different ways for somebody to be your brother in law. I saw somebody referring to a single person as both "my brother in law" and "my sister's brother in law", which together provide some clues to what he actually is, but I don't want to have to do math to listen to a story about your family.
What do you call your brother's wife's sister's husband? I think you fucking call him your brother in law! |

"Rinse and repeat".
Business people think this is the only way to express the concept of repetition. |

"Keep calm and _____ on."
It's time to move on and parody a different World War 2 propaganda poster. I suggest "When you ride alone, you ride with HITLER!" |

Social justice installment!
"Back when you were in your dad's balls", "The mightiest person started out as just a sperm", etc, that whole sentiment.
It's tempting to insist it's just one of those incorrect things people say that won't go away, but it also dovetails with some shitty attitudes about women's reproductive rights. Cunts are just the fields where I plant my seeds, and you wouldn't be OK with a field throwing away your crops before harvest, right?
But mostly the fact that it's technically incorrect. |

I don't really want to get up in people's face about how they grieve, but every time I hear a "softer" alternative to words like "die" and "death" I pass on a little.
It's obviously terrible when someone dies, but you're not sparing anyone from anything by talking about their "passing". "I was in the room when my grandmother passed ..." "Oh whew, I was scared you were going to say something else and cause us both a ton of pain."
Is it autistic in here or is it just me??? |

I hate when someone has a relative pass away at work and then they hand out a card for everyone to sign and every person signs the exact same thing. "Sorry about your loss, (name)" |

"I'll have some bacon on my bacon, lol!"
There's some kind of sad culture of zero-effort masculinity around bacon. "Oh, none for me, thanks." "NO BACON?! What's the matter, tiny bitch baby, do you lack the power of will required for eating bacon? The beard is not strong with this one, Ron Swanson, etc."
Also, all masculinity. |

This "you had one job" thing is catching on, and honestly "epic fail" was more appropriate. I usually see it applied when someone, who actually did need to balance multiple priorities, dropped the ball on one of the major ones. |
