Yes, that is a popular retort to those of us who remember Mickey Rooney dying in the late 80s/early 90s/early 00s (or more than one of those times).

HOWEVER, and to my great fortune and satisfaction, I can prove this explanation wrong, because "Something is fucking wrong with reality" is from 2008 (three years before Andy Rooney died), and I bring up the MICKEY ROONEY ISSUE several times in that thread.
