Sorry dude, but uneducated people are generally extremely uninteresting.
Maybe you're just a very pedestrian person? _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

Anyways, the main character of the Wire is the city of Baltimore, so whatever. |

I've seen like 4 episodes now, and this show has earned a few points for the Music Man reference and the Hair reference. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

The Wire is vastly overrated, has too many black people, and Season 2 was actually the best.
I'm still frozen at the beginning of Season 4.
The show is incredibly well-acted and written and really raises the bar for realism in FICTION, but I've always been a sucker for actual entertainment. |

Yeah, too many black characters in a show that takes place in a city that is 64% black. |

It is incredible that you are frozen at Season 4, considered that Season 4 and 5 build on the momentum of Season 3, and that they are actually masterful finishes to the show.
It is actually mindblowing that you could watch the Wire and not want to at least continue to those seasons. |

Yeah, like I'm going to believe that a cop show raises the bar on realism. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

So do they ever introduce characters on Mad Men that aren't awful human beings? _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

I've made it past the threshold and am now partly emotionally invested in some of the least awful characters.
Smooth sailing unless there's a deus ex machina or extreme violence coming up. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |

Peggy is the only truly likable character throughout the entire show, and then in season 3 she does some stupid shit that makes you like her less. But I still root for Don Draper in everything he does even though he's a dick.
And The Wire isn't just a cop show. Each season introduces a new aspect of the city which ties into everything else. It's a show about cops, criminals, dock workers, city government, the school system and the press. And it's the most realistic show ever produced. |

How come every horrifying yet delicious new sandwich that comes out has to be available less than five minutes from where I work?
That thing will inevitably end up inside my body. |

Yeah, most of those people are uneducated, Hangly Man.
And their jobs are not interesting, so I don't believe for a second that it's even slightly realistic. I'll watch it after I'm done Mad Men so I can make direct criticisms.
Also, yeah, Peggy is getting better. She was pretty awful in the first episode, but she's shaping up. The women are much better characters than the men, and I wasn't expecting that. I thought they would play so heavily on the tropes that the women would have been non-humans. _________________ @}-,-'- *~*~* Member of the FTU Elegant Tea Party Society *~*~* -'-,-{@ |
