No way, Derek. Have you ever heard happy hardcore or psytrance? Plus it's hard to make a value judgment about house because there are so many different types of it. Like I think early acid house is pretty terrible, but I'm pretty partial to French house.

Also Punkasss I'm just kidding, I like jungle too. The amen break is very powerful. But I hate jungle when it's got some white guy with a fake Jamaican accent talking over it the whole time, which it very often does.

I just said the jungle music thing cause my weird avant garde musician friend Alex says that. I was in a band with him, and when somebody said something like, "So for that drum and bass breakdown..." or "I want something drum and bass right here..." he'd always say, "I don't play drum and bass. I play jungle music."

MIKE DUNN, what was that movie from the sixties or something where the group of Catholic nuns somewhere in Europe find this black guy who's lost for some reason and make him their slave and force him to build a church for him, and there's this one scene where they're singing hymns and he teaches them HOW TO ROCK with AMEN, BROTHER?????

That's my favorite movie scene of all time, but I can never remember what the movie's called.

I have no idea. Your friend sounds like an elitist asshole, but that's like the defining characteristic of junglists. Most of the ones that I've met are really nice when they're not discussing music though.
