You can just say mushu pork; it's not like Americans don't eat it. The thin, black wrinkly mushrooms, yeah. They use those in everything and are awesome.

You were? That's my grandmother's home province. How was it? Did you go to MOUNT LIANG?

I was in Dongying, which is right where the Yellow River meets the sea. It was a nice town---a young city founded only in 1986 but having a pop of about 3 million (it is the location of the headquarters of China's oil companies). It was pretty crazy, with both a city police department and an oil company police department. Most everyone was somewhere else in China. The land was shit because of all the silt from the river, so people could only farm corn or cotton. And this caused lots of sand storms and made everything quite grayish brown.

But as to Shandong, Qingdao is really awesome. The city is a combo of China and Germany, by the ocean. I was supposed to visit Qufu and Mt. Tai but my grandfather died the day before the trip and I wasn't up to going. Shandong food was my favorite, as it wasn't too sweet, too spicey, or too salty. I think I miss the food the most.

If I were to ever go back to live there, I'd go to Yunan. Kunming was my favorite city.
